In accordance with established Federal Law, Internal Revenue Codes, State Statutes, Personnel Policy Regulations, Bargaining Union Agreements, and Orange County Charter and Resolutions, the Payroll Department issues payroll checks and provides direct deposits for approximately 8,100 employees in over 300 different departments and divisions for biweekly payments of salaries and wages for a yearly total of $328 Million. Some of these different departments and divisions include Orange County Corrections, Fire and Rescue, Convention Center, Family Services, Head Start, Health Services, Public Works, Regional History Center, Waste Water Management, and Youth and Family Services. The Payroll Department processes employee wage verifications, employee deductions for deferred compensation and savings bond programs, union dues, health and insurance benefits, charitable contributions, and issues checks to vendors and the Florida Retirement System. Payroll also administers court orders, IRS levies and other wage garnishments.
